Marie Heléne Boone (b. 1995, Houston, TX) Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
Marie Heléne Boone is an interdisciplinary artist working at the intersection of art, science, and philosophy. Boone grew up between Texas and Sweden, currently she lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Part of her studio practice is spent studying and working alongside molecular biologists, ethicists, and synthetic biologists within a community bio-lab where she grows microbes ranging from bacteria to genetically modified yeast cells. Solo exhibitions of her work have been held at Kime Contemporary, Indianapolis, Indiana; Neighborhood Gallery, Dallas, Texas; Studio Kura, Fukuoka, Japan; TANK Space Gallery, Houston, Texas. Her work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions including, Public Gallery, London, UK; Amos Eno, Brooklyn, NY; Bellevue Art Museum, Seattle, Washington; Gallerie Benjamine Eck, Munich, Germany; Touba London, Paris, France. She has taken part in artist residencies with Plop Residency, London, UK; Studio Kura, Fukuoka, Japan; Belmont Hotel, Dallas, Texas.
